The third and final ODI between Pakistan and West Indies was played at Multan Cricket Stadium. A lot of drama took place in the game. Pakistan batted first and managed to set a 270-run target in the first innings. However, the match had to be stopped midway through the innings due to a dust storm in the city.
It has affected the visibility and the players were unable to watch the ball properly. As a result, the play was interrupted and the umpires told the players to walk back to their camps. The incident happened during the 33rd over of the innings. Pakistan, at that stage, had lost 5 wickets for 155 runs. Later, the match was also reduced to 48 overs per side due to bad weather.
Interestingly, the West Indies players were seen wearing a mask after they walked back onto the pitch. The players did so to protect themselves from the dust storm. The rare incident left commentators and fans intrigued as the players bowled and fielded wearing face masks. The pictures and videos of the West Indies players wearing masks have been doing the rounds on social media. You can see it here.
Nevertheless, Pakistan, eventually, beat West Indies in the third ODI as well to register a 3-0 series whitewash. Pakistan won the third ODI by 53 runs (DLS method). Batting first, Pakistan managed to score 269 runs in the first innings. Shadab Khan starred with the bat, notching his career best score of 86 runs in 78 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.
