‘We will make sure that doesn’t happen’- England captain Jos Buttler vows to disappoint India- Pakistan cricket fans all at once

India- Pakistan clash at the start of 20-20 World broke the attendance record at the Melbourne Cricket Ground with a record of 90,293 fans watching the game in the stadium. The cricketing world was yet again shown the might of the India- Pakistan rivalry in their World Cup clash earlier.

Naturally, fans from not just the Indian subcontinent but from other countries as well are hoping for yet another clash between India and Pakistan. The road to an India vs Pakistan World Cup final however isn’t as easy as many fans are hoping. Pakistan will have to defeat New Zealand to get into the final, while India will have to get past the English challenge to set up a final tie with arch-rivals Pakistan.

While many hope to see India and Pakistan in the 20-20 World Cup final, England captain, Jos Buttler has an entirely different opinion on it. The England captain has vowed to make sure India and Pakistan do not meet in the final.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the semi-final clash with India, Jos Buttler said, “Look, we certainly don’t want to see an India and Pakistan final. So we will try and do everything we can to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

England marched into the semi-final after coming up with three back-to-back wins after losing the first one against Ireland. They thwarted challenges from Australia and New Zealand to reach the penultimate stage of the 20-20 World Cup and would be hoping to win their second 20-20 World Cup.

New Zealand has had a similar campaign wherein they lost one match while another was washed out alongside winning three to get into the semi-final. They play against Pakistan in Sydney Cricket Stadium on November 9th. India on the other hand will play against England at Adelaide on November 10th. Winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the final which is scheduled for November 13th at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
