One of the most anticipated clashes between India and Pakistan is just around the corner. The diplomatic tensions with the neighbours have led to the arch-rivals not facing each other quite often. The wait will be over on August 28 when the Asian Giants face each other on the second match day of the Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Interestingly, the last time India and Pakistan met was in the same venue at the  T20 World Cup last year. The Babar Azam-led side registered a comprehensive 10-wickets win against the Men in Blue.

Ahead of the marquee clash, the players from both sides are sweating it out in the nets preparing for the encounter. Meanwhile, a large pool of journalists from across the countries have gathered in the United Arab Emirates to cover the multi-nation tournament.

Generally, we witness journalists questioning the players but on Friday, it was the other way round when India skipper Rohit Sharma and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal interacted with the Indian reporters. Both the cricketers were conversating with the reporters about tweets and reports on the players’ personal lives, and in turn, the journalists were clearing the air on the same.

In the video shared on the YouTube channel, The Indian duo was seen grilling the reporters on the sidelines of the team’s practice sessions. Rohit could be heard saying, “Kaun hai? Batao?.” The Indian skipper was inquiring about the journalist who had been reporting about their personal life. When a correspondent did not disclose the name after stating that he might know who did, Chahal humorously replied, “Ye antakshari thodi hi chal rahi hai. Idhar antakshari khelein kya? (We are not playing ‘guess the names’ here).”

Recently, Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma grabbed a lot of headlines when Dhanashree removed ‘Chahal’ from her name on her official Instagram profile. Meanwhile, the ace- Indian leg-spinner wrote “new life loading” in his story. This fuelled the speculations that there might be a potential rift between the couple. However, Dhanashree clarified all the buzz and requested fans to not believe in  “rumours”.

Chahal has been a vital cog in the Indian bowling department taking timely wickets for his side. The Men in Blue have already suffered huge setbacks leading into the tournament with ace-bowling duo Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel ruled out due to their respective injuries. This makes the Indian leg-spinner’s role even more important as the Rohit-led side looks to defend their Asia Cup crown.
