Brazil made a winning start to their FIFA World Cup campaign on 25 November 2022. They had a comfortable victory of 2-0 over Serbia. Then, on 28 November, they played against Switzerland in their second match of the tournament. However, before that clash, Brazil suffered injury setbacks.

In the first game against Serbia, both Neymar and Danilo suffered ankle injuries. Thus, both of them got ruled out of the second match. However, Brazil did not get into any trouble as they edged past Switzerland 1-0. But, now a video has gone viral where Brazil’s third-choice goalkeeper Weverton came up with a unique way to help Danilo while celebrating their country’s match-winning goal against Uruguay.

“I should have replaced him and Danilo earlier,” – Brazil’s head coach Tite after the first match

Speaking of the video, the incident took place after Brazil opened the scoring against Uruguay. Casemiro was the goal scorer and after that, all the Brazilian players were celebrating together that moment. Then, the third-choice keeper, Weverton was seen carrying the injured Danilo on his shoulder. After that, all players were seen celebrating that goal.

After the first match, Brazil’s head coach Tite said that he should have subbed for Danilo earlier. Via Football Italia, he said: “It was not a reckless tackle, the player [Milenkovic] didn’t want to hurt Neymar, but maybe somebody before him wanted to do so. I hadn’t figured out how much Neymar was hurt, but I subbed him off after finding out. I should have replaced him and Danilo earlier.”

Speaking about the match against Uruguay, both teams missed opportunities to break the deadlock until the 83rd minute. In the 66th minute, Vinicius Jr. scored but VAR ruled out that goal as offside after checking. In the 83rd minute, Casemiro came up with a volley and scored his first World Cup goal. Rodrygo provided assistance in that build-up. That was enough as Brazil defeated Switzerland 1-0 and thus, they sealed their berth in the knockout stages of the ongoing World Cup.
