The Delhi-born cricketer is currently in Sri Lanka for Asia Cup 2023. India played cricket on three consecutive days. On the 10th of September, a match was scheduled between India and Pakistan. But only about 25% of the match could happen on the day, as rain affected the match. Hence, the play was moved to the following day, which was allotted as a reserve day.

On the reserve day, India beat Pakistan by 228 runs. The Indian batter played a key role in India’s victory, as he scored an unbeaten 122*(98), which included 9 fours and 3 sixes. The following day, India played Sri Lanka in their own backyard. Kohli did not have a great outing with the bat. But the passionate cricketer enjoyed other players performing and winning for his team.
During fielding, Virat encouraged his fellow players, especially bowlers, and actively involved with the fans, like he usually does. As Virat was near the stands, the Colombo crowd erupted with chants of “Kohli…Kohli…”. The former Asia Cup winner acknowledged the crowd by clapping, which received cheers as well. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
