Venkatesh Iyer and Kumar Kartikeya Singh are getting ready to play in the domestic ODI championships

Noted IPL stars Venkatesh Iyer and Kumar Kartikeya Singh are getting ready to play in the domestic ODI championships starting on Thursday. Ahead of the tournament, the duo find themselves in the middle of a raging debate on social media.

The two cricketers are part of the Madhya Pradesh team which is set to take on Goa at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Ahead of the game, the two players took part in a growing social media trend called the “Moye Moye” trend.

There was a small skit performed which was posted on the official Instagram handle of Kumar Kartikeya Singh. The short video has gained a lot of views and comments but there is a clear division in the comments section amongst the fans.

Venkatesh Iyer and Kartikeya Singh’s video leaves fans divided –

Ahead of their domestic ODI game versus Goa in Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh stars Venkatesh Iyer and Kumar Kartikeya posted a short video on Instagram. In the short video, Kartikeya could be seen bowling and delivering a wide ball. Venkatesh Iyer who is standing at the non-striker’s end remarks “Haath nahi hai kya” at the umpire after the wide-ball wasn’t given.

At that point, it is discovered that the umpire in question is differently abled. The players then hold then feel remorseful as the now famous “Moye Moye” trend plays in the background.

Many fans did not see the funny side of the video and called out the two players for being insensitive. Few fans meanwhile disagreed with the haters and many called it light-hearted as some found a deeper message in the video.

Kolkata Knight Riders the team that Venkatesh Iyer plays had announced the return of former skipper Gautam Gambhir. The former two-time IPL winner is back in the Eden Gardens dugout as the mentor of the side.

Gautam Gambhir said “I am not an emotional person and not many things move me. But this is different. This is back to where it all started. Today, there is a lump in my throat and fire in my heart as I think about slipping into that purple and gold jersey once again,”

The former Indian star also said “I am not only coming back to KKR but I am coming back to the ‘City of Joy’. I am back. I am hungry. I am number 23. Ami KKR,” Shah Rukh Khan the owner and Venky Mysore the CEO also expressed their happiness after Gautam Gambhir made his comeback to KKR ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
