Watch: Tom Curran nutmegs Nicholas Pooran with a ripping yorker and knocks him over

The 15th match in the International League T20 (ILT20) took place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday between MI Emirates and Desert Vipers. Vipers won the toss and chose to bowl first. In the first innings, the start was not ideal for the Emirates as Aravind made 3 off 7 balls and was bowled by Gus Atkinson. Muhammad Wasim followed suit as he was the next to go after making 5 off 6 balls with one four. He was caught by Sam Billings off Sheldon Cottrell.

Andre Fletcher made 21 off 18 balls with two fours before he was run out with a brilliant piece of fielding from Wanindu Hasaranga. Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard rebuilt the Emirates innings as Pooran made an entertaining 57 off 49 balls with four fours and two sixes. Pollard made 67 off 39 balls with one four and six sixes. These knocks helped Emirates to get to 169-5 in their 20 overs.

It took a beautiful piece of bowling to get Pooran out as Tom Curran dismissed Pooran with a sizzling yorker. The wicketkeeper batter was on the floor after he lost his balance and also lost his leg-stump. It came in at a good pace, The former West Indian captain was late to react, his bat never came down and the ball went through his legs to dismantle his stumps.

Curran was the best of the bowlers for the Vipers as he picked up 2-38 in his four overs. Cottrell also had a good four overs spell as he picked up 1-20. In the second innings, Vipers chased the target down without breaking a sweat. Rohan Mustafa fell early to Trent Boult. But Alex Hales continued his outstanding form in the tournament.

He scored an unbeaten 62 off 44 balls with six fours and two sixes. Colin Munro the skipper came in at number three and was among the runs as he scored a quickfire 41 off 22 balls with four fours and three sixes. Shrefane Rutherford made a smashing 56 off 29 balls with four fours and three sixes to ensure that the Vipers get to the target in 16.3 overs and won by 7 wickets.
