Team India won the Asia Cup for a record 8th time. After their comfortable win against Sri Lanka by 10 wickets, they celebrated their win in a fun mood. Ishan Kishan was seen imitating the former India captain Virat Kohli, after the match. The fans expressed their enthusiasm and love for the national team as they returned to their hotel in Colombo.
The Men in Blue also showed a special gesture towards super-fans Sudhir & Dipak after winning the Asia Cup2023. They were given the Asia Cup trophy and clicked some photos with the continental trophy. The video of this heartwarming gesture has gone viral on social media. Dipak who is known to be an ardent Sachin Tendulkar fan goes to every match of India wherever they play.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer had a great outing in the final of the Asia Cup against Sri Lanka. He picked up his career-best bowling figures of 6 for 21. In a spectacular display of bowling, Sri Lanka was bowled out for a mere 50 runs in just 15.2 overs, mainly due to Siraj’s exceptional performance, claiming six wickets in seven overs. Dasun Shanaka’s men were never in the game after they won the toss and decided to bat first.
The opening partnership of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan also made a significant contribution with a fifty-run partnership, ultimately leading India to its record-extending eighth Asia Cup title. Players were greeted by a huge crowd who wanted to celebrate the team’s prestigious win and show their appreciation for the players’ outstanding performance in the tournament. It was a moment of great joy and pride for Indian cricket fans as they celebrated their team’s success.
Rohit Sharma said at the post-match press conference, “Yeah was a great performance. To come out and play like that in the final shows the mental character. Great start with the ball and clinical finish with the bat. I was standing in the slips, and something we take pride in – our seamers have been working really hard. Very very clear in their mind. It was good to see that.”
