Watch: Sri Lanka Women Groove To Celebrate Their Win Against Pakistan To Reach The Women’s Asia Cup 2022 Final

The Women’s Asia Cup 2022 is almost nearing its end, and we have our two finalists. India women’s team will take on Sri Lanka women’s team in the final on the 15th of October at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

India advanced to the finals by defeating Thailand, while Sri Lanka advanced to the championship match by defeating Pakistan. Following the second semifinal match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, the winners were seen dancing to celebrate their victory.

All of the team members lined up to perform what appeared to be a choreographed dance routine. The video of the same has been doing rounds on the internet. “#ApeKello celebrating in style. Sri Lanka qualified for the finals of the Women’s #AsiaCup2022 after winning against Pakistan by 1 run,” read the caption of the video posted by Sri Lanka Cricket.

As for the game, it turned out to be a low-scoring thriller. The Sri Lankan team won the match by a narrow margin of one run. Sri Lanka scored 122 runs in 20 overs while batting first. Harshitha Madavi, with 35 runs in 45 balls, was the highest run scorer of the innings. For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu, with her three wickets in four overs, was the pick of the bowlers.

In the chase, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof tried her best to get to the target, but she did not get much support from her teammates. Maroof scored 42 runs in 41 deliveries that she faced in her innings. In the end, they were restricted to a score of 121 runs, handing Sri Lanka a one-run victory. Inoka Ranaweera, with her spell of 4-1-17-2, was awarded the player of the match award.

The Island nation will look to do well against the excellent Indian side led by Harmanpreet Kaur in the final. Previously, the Sri Lankan men’s team won the Asia Cup 2022. The Women’s team would also get their hands on the coveted trophy this year.
