As for the game, it turned out to be a low-scoring thriller. The Sri Lankan team won the match by a narrow margin of one run. Sri Lanka scored 122 runs in 20 overs while batting first. Harshitha Madavi, with 35 runs in 45 balls, was the highest run scorer of the innings. For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu, with her three wickets in four overs, was the pick of the bowlers.
In the chase, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof tried her best to get to the target, but she did not get much support from her teammates. Maroof scored 42 runs in 41 deliveries that she faced in her innings. In the end, they were restricted to a score of 121 runs, handing Sri Lanka a one-run victory. Inoka Ranaweera, with her spell of 4-1-17-2, was awarded the player of the match award.
The Island nation will look to do well against the excellent Indian side led by Harmanpreet Kaur in the final. Previously, the Sri Lankan men’s team won the Asia Cup 2022. The Women’s team would also get their hands on the coveted trophy this year.
