The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is leading India for the first time in the 20-20 World Cup and ahead of the clash against Pakistan on October 23, Sunday, the captain was seen teary-eyed during the national anthem ceremony.

The video of Rohit getting emotional started to surface on the internet right away and many related to the skipper as the atmosphere at the Melbourne Cricket ground couldn’t be more electric. The energy that one could feel when more than 50,000 people sang the national anthem could make a person emotional.

The ball-one magic from Arshdeep Singh

However, right after the ceremony, Rohit was back with his aggressive intent as the left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh removed Babar Azam, the skipper of the Pakistan cricket team for a duck on the very first ball of the second over.

Mohammad Rizwan, who is in terrific form, perished in the 4th over against the left-arm pacer and put Pakistan in trouble. The Men in Green remained at 32-2 at the end of the field restrictions. Rohit, who won the toss and elected to field first, said that the boys prepared well for the match and hoped that the conditions would favour the bowlers.

“We are going to field first. Looks like a good pitch, it’s always nice to bowl with overcast conditions. Think the ball will swing around a bit, and we need to take its advantage. Preparations have been good. We played a couple of practice games in Brisbane,” said the Indian skipper at the toss.

“Time to come out and enjoy ourselves now. We were expecting nothing less than this, hopefully we’ll entertain them (the crowd). We have seven batters, three seamers and two spinners,” he added further. India would look to give Pakistan the taste of their own medicine after facing a humiliating defeat in the previous edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

Babar and his boys, on the other hand, would look to carry on the momentum and clinch the match. A win here for Pakistan could give them momentum and it might help them to remain positive going into the tournament.
