India’s journey in the recently concluded ODI World Cup was undoubtedly remarkable. They emerged victorious in a staggering ten consecutive matches before succumbing to Australia in the final, narrowly missing out on the coveted title on home soil. Out of the ten games that India won, most were comprehensive victories, showcasing their dominance and unwavering spirit. In the few matches where they faced resistance, they showed grit and composure, ultimately clinching the victory into a thrilling contest.

Virat Kohli, a beacon of consistency and excellence for over a decade, proved to be an instrumental force in India’s remarkable campaign during the tournament. He amassed a staggering 765 runs throughout the competition, including three centuries and six half-centuries. His exceptional performances earned him a well-deserved recognition of Player of the Tournament, a testament to his remarkable contribution over the course of the quadrennial event.

Virat Kohli’s dominance in the cricketing world was further cemented during the World Cup, where he etched his name into the annals of history by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record of 49 ODI centuries. This monumental achievement was attained in a match against South Africa in Kolkata, sparking a wave of jubilation among fans and pundits alike. Kohli’s sensational run in the World Cup yielded yet another record-breaking feat. His tally of 765 runs propelled him past Sachin Tendulkar to become the player with the most runs scored in a single edition of the World Cup.

In a heartwarming gesture of camaraderie and respect, Tendulkar presented Kohli with a special gift ahead of the ODI World Cup final. Tendulkar bestowed upon Kohli his jersey from his last ODI match, a symbolic gesture to congratulate Kohli on surpassing his record of 49 ODI centuries.
