Could Pakistan turn things around against New Zealand?

As things stand, the Pakistani team would be hoping to change things around in the upcoming two-match Test series against the Tim Southee-led New Zealand set to get underway on December 26, Monday. With Najam Sethi taking over as the new chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the former skipper Afridi was given the task to select the squad for the series against the Kiwis.

“I am pleased to announce, with immediate effect, an Interim Selection Committee for the New Zealand tour. It comprises Shahid Afridi (Chief Selector), Abdul Razzaq and Rao Iftikhar, with Haroon Rashid as Convenor,” Sethi wrote on Twitter on Saturday. It remains to be seen if the interim selection committee would make aggressive changes to the squad.

“The cricket regime headed by Ramiz Raja @iramizraja is no more. The 2014 PCB constitution stands restored. The Management Committee will work tirelessly to revive first class cricket. Thousands of cricketers will be employed again. The famine in cricket will come to an end,” wrote Sethi post taking over as the new chief.

Pakistan have an uphill task of getting things right and turning things around against the mighty Black Caps. Given that the Pakistani team are known for their willpower, fans hope that Babar Azam and his men would get things sorted in the approaching series.
