The Pakistan Super League has been wonderful to watch as there have been some wonderful fast-bowling spells, feisty player battles, high-scoring games, low-scoring thrillers, wonderful knocks with the bat and cracking spells with the ball. The tournament has always given the cricket-loving public in Pakistan something to look forward to.

In the match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, the battle to watch out for was between Babar Azam and Haris Rauf. Rauf ended up dismissing Babar and a huge celebration followed. Rauf had dismissed Babar for 50 off 41 with four fours and two sixes. He dismissed the Pakistan skipper in the 16th over and then looked up to the heavens to thank god for being able to get Babar’s wicket.

Rauf had earlier said in an interview that he would love to get  Virat Kohli and Babar Azam’s wicket

Rauf, in interaction with Azam, had earlier claimed that he wanted to get Virat Kohli and Babar’s wicket and in the match, the same had come true. “Jo marzi ho jaaye, par wicket leni hai. Ek Kohli bacha hoya hai, tussi bache huye ho. Williamson slip toh do vaari bach gaya si. Par yeh 3-4 player mere hain (No matter what happens, I just need to take your wicket. Just Kohli and you are left. Williamson was saved in slips twice. These are 3-4 players whom I want to get out),”

In the match, Zalmi in the first innings, where helped by contributions from Salim Ayub, who made 68 off 36 balls, with eight fours and three sixes. Tom Kohler Cadmore made 36 off 16 balls, with two fours and three sixes. This helped Zalmi to get to 207-10 in their 20 overs. With the ball for Qalandars, Shaheen Afridi picked up 4-31 in his four overs.

In the second innings, the score was more than enough as Zalmi won by 35 runs. For Lahore, with the bat, Talat Ali scored 63 off 37 balls, with four fours and five sixes. Afridi shone with the bat as well. He made 52 off 36 balls, with three fours and five sixes. Lahore lost despite Afridi’s all-round performance.
