Before playing a marvelous knock on Sunday, Virat Kohli would rate his knock against Australia played in Mohali as his best. It was indeed one of the best knocks one could ever witness in the history of the game. In the Super 10 encounter, Australia had scored 160 runs at the end of the first innings. In reply, India were tottering at 49 for 3 in just 7.4 overs.
India needed more than 10 runs an over but Virat Kohli looked determined to chase it down. He held firm and kept finding boundaries at regular intervals. In the last four overs, more than 12 runs were needed per over. Virat Kohli, however, smashed Faulkner and Coulter-Nile at the fag end as India collected 19 and 16 runs from the 18th and 19th over respectively. India, eventually, chase down the score with 5 balls left in the end. Virat Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 82 runs in just 51 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes.
