‘Tuk-tuk academy ke do pillars’- Twitter lashes out at Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan for their slow innings against Bangladesh in 20-20 World Cup
Pakistan went against Bangladesh in their fourth match for a chance of semi-final qualification. The Men in Green were presented with a massive chance after South Africa lost to the Netherlands in their do-or-die match on Sunday.
The Babar Azam-led side began on the backfoot after Bangladesh openers took Pak bowlers to the cleaners in the first two overs. Shaheen Afridi however struck back and dismissed the partnership following which the Shakib Al Hasan-led side crumbled in their usual fashion.
After 70/1 in 10 overs, Bangladesh crashed to 127/8 in 20 and put forth a small total against Pakistan. Coming onto chase the total Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan took to the crease and hoped to get their team across the finish line without any fuss.
The chase however did not turn out as they had hoped for. Azam and Rizwan struggled to score runs at a T20 pace against Bangladesh bowlers. Both found it difficult to find boundaries as well as play at a strike rate over 100 in their do-or-die match.
Pakistan’s captain who is struggling with form was the poorer of the two was he made just 25 runs at 33 with a leisurely strike rate of 75.76. His struggle at the crease was ended by Nasum Ahmed who dismissed the batter in the 11th over.
Rizwan who had his struggle going on was also dismissed in the next over at an individual score of 32 off of 32 by Ebadot Hossain. It was after the dismissal of these two that Pakistan’s run rate increased at the team was able to win the match with 11 balls to spare.
As a result of this win, Pakistan have now qualified for the Semi-final and would clash with either New Zealand or England based on India’s result against Zimbabwe.

Comparing Babar Azam with Virat Kohli should be considered blasphemy henceforth.

How have people been even comparing Babar Azam to Kohli? Babar is quite simply, a selfish player. Happy to get his form back at the cost of team. Kohli, even in his worse patch, would never be selfish and always put the team first.
