The Australian cricket team on Wednesday outplayed the Netherlands to win by 309 runs in the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. This was the biggest win in the history of the ODI World Cup history.
There are four other occasions where the team has outplayed its opposition to register a huge win in terms of runs. Such convincing wins never happen on a regular basis but when it happens it shows how one team had totally outplayed its opponent.

Afghanistan was all out for just 142 on the board chasing the 418-run target set by Australia. Local hero Mitchell Johnson was the star with the ball as he grabbed 4 wickets in a massive during the 2015 ODI World Cup. David Warner was the top scorer with the bat hitting 178 runs which is still an Australian World Cup record.
Gary Wilson’s 21 runs was the lead scorer for Ireland as they were bundled out for just 112 runs. For the Kiwis Brendon McCullum (166) and James Marshall (161) had scored career-best totals in a totally one-sided encounter. For the Kiwis, it was Tim Southee and Michael Mason who led the charge with the ball picking three wickets each.
Sean Williams the Zimbabwe skipper top scored with the bat with 174 runs. This helped Zimbabwe post their first ever 400 plus total in ODI Cricket. Asked to chase a massive 409 run target, the United States of America by a massive 304 runs after they were all out for 104 runs.
Adam Zampa with 4 wickets for 8 runs led the charge with the ball as the Dutch were all out for 90. Apart from Vikramjit Singh’s 25-run knock none of the Dutch batters could put up a fight. Earlier in the day Glenn Maxwell had scored his century from a mere 40 balls to reach the fastest century in ODI World Cups. David Warner scored 104 runs to record his 22nd ODI century.
Sri Lanka was asked to chase a huge total of 391 to win, but Mohammad Siraj ran through the Lankan batting unit. The right-arm pacer picked 4 wickets for 32 runs in his 10 overs to bowl Sri Lanka out for 73. The Indian team reached a massive 390 runs thanks to an unbeaten 166 by Virat Kohli and 116 runs by Shubman Gill.
