Former Australia skipper and modern-day batting great, Steve Smith is undoubtedly one of the all-time batting greats who ever played the game. Nobody would have thought or imagined that Smith, who started his career as a spinner in 2010 will rise to the height of greatness in the batting as he recently started batting as an opener for Australia in Tests after the retirement of the star Southpaw David Warner.
Smith is only the second batter in the cricketing history to play more than 100 innings at the number 4 batting position. Besides that, he is the fourth in the list of batters with the best batting average at this position, scoring 5966 runs with an average of 61.51, with 19 centuries.
