Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy from Virat Kohli after India crashed out from the 20-20 World in 2021. He has done well in bilateral series and India have not lost a bilateral series under him. A long rope should be given to see what he can do. 

He has led India in the past and done well. Instances such as the Nidahas Trophy in 2018 and also in the 2018 Asia Cup. He also had a rough phase with the bat early on in his career but reinvented himself in 2013. The same can be said about captaincy.
