2) Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev, the Russian star, made it until the summit clash of the Australian Open (AO) 2022 and eventually lost the game against the Spaniard Rafael Nadal. One has to agree that the 26-year-old gave a tough fight to the veteran from Spain but lost to Nadal’s experience. 

For the unversed, the Russian star was the finalist in the 2021 edition as well where he lost to the Serbian great Novak Djokovic. It remains to be seen if it would be the year for Medvedev to finally break the summit clash horror, although many believe that it would come only after a Himalayan effort.
