Three Indian batters who can become top scorers in the first Ind vs SL T20I

After having a forgettable 2022, the ‘Men-in-Blue’ are ready to start 2023 with a bang as they face Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series starting on 3^rd January. The first match of the series will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai and if the past records of the ground are to be believed, the game promises to be a high-scoring match. Both the teams have several big hitters in their lineup who will be licking their lips looking at the pitch at Wankhede.

India’s squad in particular have numerous players who have vast experience of batting in Wankhede. On that note, let’s take a look at three batters who can become top scorers in the first T20I on Tuesday:

1 Ishan Kishan

With Rishabh Pant rested for the series, Kishan has the perfect opportunity in his hands to woo the selectors with a flamboyant innings in the first match. The southpaw is coming into the series having etched his name in the record books for scoring the fastest ODI double hundred in his last ODI against Bangladesh.

The 24-year-old had a mixed 2022 as he scored 476 runs in 26 innings at an average of 29.75 and a strike rate of 127.95. The Jharkhand batter failed to make it to the 20-20 World Cup squad last year. With another World Cup scheduled in 2024, Kishan will look to replicate his ODI heroics in the upcoming series and seal his place in the T20I team as well.
