Three Experienced Players Who Will Not Be A Part Of The Zimbabwe Tour

After playing against West Indies, the Indian team will tour Zimbabwe to play three One-Day Internationals. All of them will be played at the Harare Sports Club. This series features the lesser known names as the experienced players will be taking a rest and be refreshed for the important Asia Cup which will be the dress rehearsal for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Here we will take a look at the three experienced players who will not be part of the Zimbabwe tour:

Rohit Sharma

 

The current captain Rohit Sharma has been on the road continuously since he took on the mantle of leading the Indian side. He has in the past also played more matches than Virat Kohli and has gotten fewer breaks. He led the national side whenever Virat Kohli has been absent when the latter was the full-time captain.

At present, Rohit has come under the scanner for his fitness. Unable to recover from Covid on time, he had to miss the all-important 5th Test Match of the tour to England. He also has been absent for a part of recent overseas tours. However, this much-needed break gives him a chance to recharge his batteries and come back fresh.
