‘The craze is unreal’- Bangalore fans stand in long queues for 10 hours to get tickets for game against Mumbai in Indian T20 League
The Indian T20 League 2023 started with a bang. The fans got to witness a close game between Chennai and Gujarat, courtesy of Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan finishing the game. Kolkata and Punjab, as well as Lucknow and Delhi, will clash on April 1. Bangalore and Mumbai will play on April 2. The craze for the game in Bangalore has hit the rooftops.
The fans thronged the M Chinnaswamy Stadium from 12 noon, and they stood for 10 hours to get the tickets for the clash against Mumbai. This year’s edition will be played in the home and away format. The matches will be played across India in 12 venues. other than Mumbai all other venues were deprived of Indian T20 League games due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Bangalore fans were waiting to pick a slice of the action.
Rajat Patidar not been cleared by NCA to play Indian T20 League
The Bangalore fans are one of the most loyal fans in the world. The fanbase is electric and the supporters continue to support the side despite not having won an Indian T20 League trophy in 16 editions. The Bold Army has made it to the playoffs in the last three editions of the tournament. Bangalore will hope for a great season. They will want to give the passionate crowd at the M Chinnaswamy some memorable wins to cherish.
Bangalore also have the M Chinnaswamy conundrum to contend with. The support the franchise receives is great. But they have not got many wins at the stadium. The short boundaries at the stadium and batting friendly pitches have not been good for the bowlers. The bowlers have had a tough time bowling here and it has not helped that Bangalore have had injuries heading into the season.
Josh Hazelwood will reportedly miss the first seven matches as he is recovering from his Achillies Tendonitis. Rajat Patidar is nursing a heel injury and has not got clearance to play in the Indian T20 League by the NCA. Bangalore brought in Michael Bracewell in place of Phil Jacks who was ruled of the Indian T20 League due to injury.

Standing on a queue for 10 hours isn’t massive, rather concerning. Ain’t there ways to get a ticket quicker?
