India and Pakistan took on each other at Melbourne Cricket Stadium. India won the toss and chose to bowl. Pakistan got off to a bad start as Babar Azam was dismissed on the first ball by Arshdeep Singh. Rizwan played a laborious innings of only 4 off 12 balls before being dismissed by a good short ball bowled by Arshdeep.
At 15 for 2, Pakistan was in dire straits, but the recovery was engineered by Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed, who scored 51 off 34 balls, with two fours and four sixes. He pushed the score to 91 but was dismissed leg-before wicket by Mohammed Shami. Hardik Pandya brought India back into the game by picking crucial wickets of Shadab Khan, Haider Ali, and Nawaz.
Shaan Masood held the innings together and played a wonderful innings of 52 off 42, with five boundaries in his knock. Some lusty blows at the end by the fast bowlers enabled the Men in Green to get to 160 from their 20 overs. Hardik and Arshdeep shone brightly with the ball for India by picking up three wickets each from their four-over spells. Mohammed Shami bowled a wonderful spell of 1-25 from his four overs.
In the second innings, India did not start on a bright note as they were 10-2, with Rohit Sharma and Kl Rahul back in the dugout. Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel were also dismissed quickly as India was dead and buried at 31-4. It took a 100-run partnership from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya to rescue India from troubled waters.
Virat Kohli played an innings of a lifetime as he scored a match-winning 82 off 53 balls, with six fours and four sixes. Hardik Pandya hung in there to support the former India skipper, but he scored a scratchy 40 from 37 balls with two maximums and one boundary.
The game-changing ball was the fifth ball of the 18th over which went for six that Kohli h of Harris Rauf which changed the momentum in India’s favour. They got 15 runs off that over and then hit Mohammad Nawaz for 16 off the last over. The last over from the spinner was a long one but Ravichandran Ashwin got the winning boundary for India in the final ball of the over.

Happy Diwali India!!!
We've witnessed perhaps one of the most historic inning in cricket history.
This is equivalent to Sachin's 98 in 2003 WC against Pakistan or maybe even better.
