Sikandar Raza, an all-rounder from Zimbabwe has lauded franchise cricket in India, stating that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is way better than the Pakistan Super League (PSL).  In the last auction year, Punjab Kings picked Sikandar Raza for Rs. 50 lakhs. As the IPL 2024 is going to get started from March Sikandar Raza is getting ready to play another season for Punjab Kings.

In an interview with Sports Now, Sikandar Raza stated that to availability of top international players makes the IPL special. PSL only comes closer to IPL when it comes to fans. In PSL Sikandar Raza plays for Lahore Qalandars.

“I just think that the availability of all the players for one tournament makes IPL really special. In most of the matches we play, the crowd comes and supports their teams. That’s something that’s really different in IPL. The only other league when it comes to crowds that comes close to IPL is PSL. So, I think IPL definitely stands out with a couple of factors,” said Raza.

Sikandar Raza expressed that IPL is the biggest league in the world and is much better than PSL. This year will mark the 17th edition of the IPL whereas PSL will mark its ninth season.

IPL is such a big and global event – Sikandar Raza

“IPL is by far the best league when it comes to PSL also. Like, it is much better than PSL. That’s what I’m trying to say. Yeah, I’m not a big fan of comparisons. But yes, it is. I think IPL is the biggest league on the planet,” Raza added.

Sikandar Raza has stated that he can never able to repay their faith as Punjab Kings was the only team to bid for him in the IPL 2023 auction. In the 2023 IPL, he played 7 games and scored 139 runs with the bat and with the ball he was able to take only three wickets.

“IPL is such a big and global event that I am very grateful and blessed that Punjab picked me. And I don’t think I can ever repay their faith. I mean, they were the only team that raised the baton on the auction day. So, if they hadn’t done that, I don’t think I would have been part of IPL last year, let alone this year,” said Raza.

As IPL 2024 is getting to start in March Sikandar Raza will get ready to show his skills for Punjab Kings in this IPL.
