Lehman has a strong following on social media with a staggering amount of followers. She was quick to look at the message from the Greek Tennis player that came when she had put out the social media post.

“Let’s play Mixed [sic]?” Tsitsipas wrote in a comment to Lehmann. Lehmann replied in kind and said she has accepted the invitation to play the mixed doubles game. “Let’s go,” She replied along with a Tennis ball and a laughter emoji.

I dont think you can compare men’s and women’s foootball – Alisha Lehmann

Lehmann has played for BSC YB and also West Ham United and Everton on loan in the FA WSL. In 2017, Lehmann got her first cap for the Switzerland national side. She scored her first goal in the Cyprus Women’s Cup against Finland in 2018.

She feels she can keep growing Women’s football due to her large fan base on social media. She has 165,000 followers on Twitter and is one of the most followed women footballers on social media. She was an FA Cup runner-up in 2018-19.

“England probably is the picture everyone should look at because I don’t think in other countries it increased that much,” Lehmann told talk SPORT.“In Switzerland, for example, everyone’s still working, 90 per cent probably still work.

“I don’t think you can compare like anything between women’s and men’s football because it’s just so different how people look at us and how people look at them. “It’s just not the same. Women’s football is always second-class. I don’t think you’ll ever be first class because I think a lot of people still think that men’s football is the first priority.

“They don’t think about women’s football and I think that’s a big problem. Now social media is really helpful because people actually see, oh, we play football, we can play football.”
