The 3rd ODI between India and the West Indies was nothing like the first two games, which were last-over thrillers. This Men in Blue had a dominant win of 119 runs (DLS Method). The rain had a part to play in this encounter and the DLS method came into play. India won the toss and choose to bat. Once again there was a superb opening partnership of 113 between Shikar Dhawan and Shubman Gill.

Gill particular was in sublime form and he played some breathtaking shots on route to 98 not out in 98 balls, which contained seven boundaries and two sixes. He was just two short of a well-deserved 100 but was denied a ton because of rain. Dhawan contributed 58 of 74 balls, which had seven fours, and got the team off to a good start.

Shreyas Iyer continued his good form and gave the finish that India wanted he scored 44 off 34 balls which had four boundaries and a six. The rain intervened shortly after Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal and the DLS target for the home team was 257 runs.

For the West Indies, Hayden Walsh was the pick of the bowlers he picked up the 2 vital wickets of Shikar Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav in his 8-over spell. Akeal Hosein picked up the wicket of Shreyas Iyer in his 8-over spell which cost him 43 runs.

In the West Indies innings, The Men in Blue were all over West Indies like a rash and the tone was set by Mohammed Siraj. He dismissed the dangerous Kyle Mayers with a peach of a delivery and also accounted for the wicket of Shamarh Brooks. The West Indies struggled to play wrist spin once again and Chahal was the strike bowler for the Men in Blue in the game.

He picked up 4 wickets for a miserly 17 runs in his 4-over spell. Shardul Thakur also picked up 2 wickets, and Axar Patel and Prasidh Krishna also contributed by picking one each. The big plus for the Men in Blue is that the top order has scored runs in the series. They will look to continue their good form in the T20I series as well.
