Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the most popular cricketers in India right now. As a Test spinner, Ashwin is very successful. Even in Limited overs cricket, Ashwin was very good whenever he got chances in the Indian team. Test cricket remains the forte of the all-rounder and he is successful in the format both as a bowler and as a lower-order batter. It makes Ashwin one of the finest Test all-rounders of all time.

The 36-year-old has a good legacy already in the longest format of the game. The off-spinner commands respect from the fans and is very popular among them. The proof of Ashwin’s popularity was visible as a question in India’s TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ was about the recent milestone achieved by India’s star cricketer in the longest format of the game against West Indies.

Ravichandran Ashwin, only Indian to dismiss the father-son duo in Tests

In the Test series in West Indies, Ashwin dismissed Tagenarine Chanderpaul and became the first Indian bowler to dismiss a father-son duo in Test cricket. The star spinner had also dismissed Shivnarine Chanderpaul in Test cricket back in the day. In 2011, the Tamil Nadu spinner had dismissed the senior Chanderpaul on his debut when West Indies toured India for a Test series.

The question in the KBC was asked regarding the milestone, which was worth INR 25 Lakhs, which is a huge amount. Along with Ravichandran Ashiwn, the other options for the question were Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma. It was not a difficult question for those who regularly follow Indian cricket, as the achievement was highlighted on social media by many fans.

To date, Ashwin is the only Indian bowler to dismiss a father-son duo in Test cricket. There are bowlers from other teams who have achieved the feat before Ravichandran Ashwin. Simon Harmer from South Africa, Ian Botham from England, Mitchell Starc from Australia, and Pakistan’s legend Wasim Akram have also achieved the feat. Ashwin will be seen in action for India in the Test series against South Africa and England.
