England pacer Reece Topley will miss the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 as No Objection Certificated was not provided by the England and Wales Cricket Board to participate in the T20 league.
Reece Topley had a niggle and due to this, he was not given NOC to take part in the PSL. In the SA20 league, Reece Topley was part of the Durban Super Giants. He played all 12 matches in the league. He also played the final match as they lost to Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
Reece Topley was the joint second-highest wicket-taker for this team along with his team-mate Junior Dala as he took 13 wickets. Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) retained Reece Topley. As the big cricketing event is just a month away it looks like Reece Topley won’t get fit to play the IPL 2024 season.
Reece Topley will miss the PSL as it going to be from 17th February on Saturday. As per reports, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has replaced him with Chris Jordan. Chris Jordan will be the part of bowling unit which as Yash Dayal, Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Siraj
Chris Jordan who made his IPL debut in 2016 has played his first match for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In last year’s IPL he played for Mumbai Indians as a replacement for his national teammate Jofra Archer. He got to play only 6 matches and took 3 wickets with an economy of 10.77
This is not the first time he has played for RCB. In 2016 he was part of the team that played 9 matches and took 11 wickets with an economy of 9.21. In his IPL career, he has played 34 matches and has taken 30 wickets with the ball and he has scored 81 runs with the bat.
As the 2024 T20 World Cup is over the horizon Chris Jordan has a chance to shine in IPL to book his spot in England’s team for T20 World Cup 2024.
