India’s skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for the duck in the second innings of the first Test game in Centurion. Notably, South African star pacer Kagiso Rabada has beautifully bowed out on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test on December 28. However, Rohit Sharma has made a comeback in the ongoing Test series after the ODI World Cup 2023 final loss against Australia on November 19.

Speaking about the game here, South African skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and invited the visiting side to bat first in the game. Notably, Indian batters failed to show dominance on Day 1, but KL Rahul’s magnificent tonne helped India post 245 runs before getting all out. The wicketkeeper batter managed to pile up 101 runs from 137 balls, featuring 14 boundaries and four sixes.

However, South African star opener Dean Elgar batted beautifully to help his side chase down the total. The left-handed batter smashed 185 runs, featuring 28 boundaries against India, and stitched the great stand with all-rounder Marco Jansen, who also piled up an unbeaten 84 runs, featuring 11 boundaries and a six.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma failed to give India a start in the second innings

Talking about India’s second innings, the visiting sides again failed to show their batting performances as star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal could only get 5 runs while Rohit Sharma was removed for the duck. In addition, Shubman Gill was dismissed by left-arm pacer Marco Jansen for 26 runs. Meanwhile, India’s star cricketers Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are at the crease, and they will be aiming to post a decent score to help India maintain the top spot in the WTC Cycle 2023-2025.
