Rohit Sharma remembers his first meeting with Yuvraj Singh, calls it not memorable one

Indian Cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh are good friends on and off the field. However, many of you must not be aware of the fact that Rohit’s wife Ritika Sajdeh is the sister of Yuvraj.

Yuvraj made his debut for India in 2000 and was senior player of the Indian team when Rohit Sharma made his debut in 2007. Later Rohit made himself one of the finest batters in white-ball cricket. In an interview with Gaurav Kapur in his show Breakfast with Champions Rohit talks about his first interaction with Yuvraj and recalled that it was not a memorable one.

The incident took place when Rohit Sharma made his way into the Indian team. He remembered that on the team bus, Yuvraj Singh approached him and asked him on whose seat he was sitting.

In reply, Rohit stated that he doesn’t know. Yuvraj told him that this seat belonged to me so you get up and take another sit.

Injury woes in the Indian camp

Though Yuvraj Singh sounded rude at him Rohit stated that he wasn’t rude at him that time. For India Yuvraj Singh has played 304 ODI games and scored 8,701 runs and played 58 T20 games and scored 1,177 runs. Yuvraj Singh has played 40 Test matches for India and has scored 1,900 runs with an average of 33.92.

Rohit is currently leading India in a five-match Test series against England. As India won the second Test in Vizag by 106 runs, they have taken a 1-1 lead in the Test series. So far in the two Test matches Rohit’s form with bat is poor. He has scored only 90 runs with an average of 22.50. Ahead of the third Test match in Rajkot injury concerns worries the selectors. As Shreyas Iyer won’t be available for the remaining games. With Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul not yet confirmed to be part of the third Test match. The main question that lies with the Indian team is Virat Kohli’s availability for the rest of the Test matches.
