The second T20I between the West Indies and the Men in Blue concluded at Warner Park in St Kitts on Monday. However, there was action happening off the field even before the first ball was bowled. Due to luggage trouble, the start of the match was delayed which caused great inconvenience to the players. The match finally got the green signal to start at 11:00 pm IST.

The batting display from the men in blue was nothing less than shocking from the start of the game as skipper Rohit Sharma got out for a golden duck and another opener Suryakumar Yadav could manage only 11 runs off 6 balls. Shreyas Iyer also got out early as he was able to score just 10 runs in the 11 deliveries that he faced.

Though Rishabh Pant made 24 runs off 12 balls, while Hardik Pandya scored 31 runs in 31 balls. The middle order put together  some useful runs but it was not enough to ensure that the Men in Blue put a good total on the score board. The hero of the last match, Dinesh Karthik made only 7 runs in 13 balls and got out for a low score.

Obed McCoy showed why he is so potent and why he was the gun bowler for the Rajasthan side in the Indian T20 League’s recently concluded 2022 edition. Jerseys had changed for Mccoy but his form remained the same.

Indian cricket fans showed their frustration with the manner in which the Indian batters batted, especially Shreyas Iyer as he is not being able to play well in the shortest format for quite a long time now. Even some former Indian cricketers have slammed the coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma for preferring Shreyas Iyer over Deepak Hooda.

After another failure in the second 2nd T20I,  the Indian fans demanded ouster of Shreyas Iyer from the team and asked the team management to include Sanju Samson in the squad. This comes at the back of many pundits saying Shreyas Iyer has glaring issues with playing the short ball.

Twitter was abuzz as usual. We will take a look at some of the reactions here:
