Ravichandran Ashwin drops massive statement on Cheteshwar Pujara ahead of the second Test against Australia
Cheteshwar Pujara has scored 7021 Test runs for India.

India and Australia will square off against each other in the second Test at Delhi. India vanquished the Australians at Nagpur in the first Test by an innings and 132 runs at Nagpur. India made they win the match inside three days. The wreckers in chief were Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for India.
When India and Australia face off in the second Test on Friday, Cheteshwar Pujara will achieve a special landmark as he will become the thirteenth Indian player to play hundred Test matches for the country. Pujara is off the mould of Rahul Dravid and has been a man of important situations for India at times of crisis. He has done the hard grind for the national side many a times.

Ashwin lauded Pujara’s efforts and praised him for getting to the hundred Test milestone.
“This (Delhi) Test will be Cheteshwar Pujara’s 100th Test. This is a massive achievement. He had surgeries on both his knees early on his career. He was really struggling. Ashwin said on his YouTube channel. “The knee surgeries put him out for 3-4 years. To play 100 Tests from there is an incredible achievement. Well done my friend, all the very best for your 100th Test.” Ashwin added.
Ashwin also touched upon the interesting aspect of Pujara who would have, in Ashwin’s words, become a great ODI player for India but he did not get opportunities to represent India in the white-ball format often enough. The off-spinner said that the Saurashtra batter had a wonderful understanding of the ODI game and his strength was rotating the strike in ODIs in domestic cricket.
Pujara has played five ODIs for India and has scored 51 runs with the highest score of 27. The 35-year-old has been a giant for India in the white flannels. He has made 7021 runs for the country. He has also played T20s in Saurashtra Premier League and has been a part of the Indian T20 League in various teams as well.
