Rare feat in Pondicherry T10 League

Krishna Pandey of the Patriots established his name in an elite list as he smashed six sixes in an over against the Royals in the Pondicherry T10 League. Earlier, Yuvraj Singh and Kieran Pollard achieved this feat in the International arena. In T10 format, it was achieved earlier and now, he becomes the latest member of that elite list. Nitesh Thakur of the Royals had a disastrous outing in this match for this kind of brutal hitting in that over from Krishna Pandey. 

Speaking about the match, the Royals won the toss and opted for batting first. Their opener R Ragupathy was the star of the innings for his unbeaten knock of 84 runs off 30 balls as they posted a huge total of 157 runs in 10 overs. S Parameeswaran had a good outing with the ball as he picked up two wickets for 25 runs only.

Pandey’s inning was almost a match-winner for the Patriots

In reply, the Patriots were in a place of bother as they lost three wickets in five overs only. Then, Krishna Pandey smashed 83 runs off 19 balls at a strike rate of 436.80. His innings included 12 huge sixes and two fours. He was so close to winning the match for his team before Aravindaraj took his wicket as the Patriots fell short of four runs only.

During his innings, he produced a wide range of shots. His shots, all around the field, were the main thing in today’s innings. His fifth six flew to a handsome distance but, his sixth one was not from his middle of the bat also. Still, it crossed the line, and thus, he made the history that is to be cherished for ages to come.

Despite this loss, the Patriots are still at the top of the table by winning eight matches out of 12 (17 points). On the other hand, the Royals are in the seventh position even after today’s huge win with nine points from 13 matches.
