MS Dhoni was seen with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on the dais at an event. He showered lavish praise on MS Dhoni and called him the “adopted son of Tamil Nadu”. In a big wave of expressing his optimism, he said that he wanted MS Dhoni to continue playing for Chennai Super Kings even after 2023.
Stalin flagged off the Tamil Nadu Sports Foundation. The motive of the foundation is to unearth more talents like MS Dhoni across sports. This new project by the Sports Foundation will be done through Public Private Partnership. Five days since the foundation has been set in motion, a whopping sum of 23.50 crore has been accumulated. This also includes a 5 Lakh contribution that Stalin has given out of his own pocket at his son Udhayanidhi’s request.

“I am also a fan of MS Dhoni. Tamil Nadu’s adopted son Dhoni should continue to play in CSK,” Stalin said at the launch of the foundation. , “Like everyone in Tamil Nadu, I am a fan of MS Dhoni. Recently, I went to Chepauk Stadium twice to watch the IPL. The reason for that is to watch Dhoni’s batting. Tamil Nadu’s adopted son Dhoni should continue to play for CSK. Dhoni, the darling of Chennai, is a role model for millions of youngsters.” Stalin added.
“Coming from a backward family, Dhoni has become a national icon due to his hard work. We want to produce many Dhonis from Tamil Nadu in all sports, not just cricket. I am very happy to start the Tamil Nadu Champions Foundation,” The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said about MS Dhoni.
Stalin’s son and sports minister Udhayanidhi early gave a promise that he would put all his time and effort into making Tamil Nadu “a sports power of the Indian subcontinent”. He further went on to say that the foundation would tap in and dig deep to find sporting talent from all over the state. CSK won their last IPL 2023 match against Mumbai Indians at Chepauk and did the double over them this IPL season.
