Pakistan are set to play a T20I series against England which will comprise of 7 games on home soil for Pakistan. The series will be played as a pre cursor to the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia in October. Both teams will use this series as an opportunity to sort out their best playing XI for the much awaited 20-20 World Cup 2022.
First T20I: Tuesday, September 20 – National Stadium, Karachi, 8pm IST.
Second T20I: Thursday, September 22 – National Stadium, Karachi ,8pm IST.
Third T20I: Friday, September 23 – National Stadium, Karachi, 8pm IST.
Fourth T20I: Sunday, September 25 – National Stadium, Karachi, 8PM IST.
Fifth T20I: Wednesday, September 28 – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, 8PM IST.
Sixth T20I: Friday, September 30 – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore 8PM IST.
Seventh T20I: Sunday, October 2 – Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore 8 PM IST.
All the matches will be played only at Karachi and Lahore at the National Stadium and the Gaddafi Stadium respectively. This will be a long series and will serve as ideal preparation for the marquee event coming up.
England
This will be a historical tour for England as they will tour Pakistan after a long gap of 17 years. Last year in 2021, England were committed to touring Pakistan and backed out at the last-minute citing security concerns as the prime reason.
This is the first time that a bilateral T20I series will go on for that long. Alex Hales will be seen in action as he got in due to the injured Johnny Bairstow. Jordan Cox and Luke Wood are players who earn a spot in this series.
Moeen Ali will lead the side when the tour begins, and Liam Livingstone will give this tour a miss due to an ankle injury. Jos Butler might take over later in the series depending upon the condition of his calf injury.
Pakistan
Shan Masood will be eager to impress the selectors and will be keen to make the most of this golden opportunity. He will look to make runs before the World Cup starts and will look to be in good touch. Abrar Ahmed and Amir Jamal have earned there maiden call-ups to the T20 setup and will be wanting to show their mettle.
