The much-awaited clash for the Asia Cup 2023 is finally here. Colombo is the ground as India and Pakistan battle it out in the Super Four stage. Pakistan has already beaten Bangladesh to register their first Super Four game win. India on the other hand is playing their first game of the Super Four stage.
Babar Azam the Pakistan skipper won the toss and chose to bowl first. The reason behind the move was to exploit the early help for the fast bowlers. Pakistan went into the game with the same team that had beaten Bangladesh at Lahore on Wednesday.
KL Rahul makes a comeback to the Indian team
India skipper Rohit Sharma was happy with the decision as he said that he was looking to bat first. India made two changes to its team, pacer Jasprit Bumrah was back and replaced Mohammad Shami.
The other change was that KL Rahul was back in the playing XI as Shreyas Iyer was replaced. According to Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer was suffering from spasms in his back and was a forced change.
KL Rahul though will play as a specialist batter as Ishan Kishan will be seen donning the gloves. The 31-year-old KL Rahul will be batting at number 5 which has become his own spot in the ODI team recently.
The weather in Colombo seems to be a perfect day for Cricket as there is no rain in sight at least for the next two hours. The last game played at the venue was between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The home side won the game by 21 runs to knock Bangladesh out of the tournament.

Former skipper Virat Kohli also is just 98 runs away from becoming the 5th player to score 13,000 ODI runs. The 34-year-old has the chance to become the quickest player to achieve this feat.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also need just 2 runs to register 5,000 runs between them as a pair. The two have scored 4998 runs so far with each other in partnerships in 85 games. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul also need just 14 runs to reach 2,000 runs as a batting pair.
