The Lucknow Super Giants managed to stun the Mumbai Indians on home turf by 5 runs. It was a close game where the LSG bowlers played their skins out to defend a total of 177-3. Some good death bowling by Moshin Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq and Yash Thakur helped LSG get home by the barest of margins. Mohsin bowled a wonderful final over against the big hitting duo of Cameron Green and Tim David.

After the game, when the LSG players made it back to their dressing rooms, they were in a very buoyant mood. A picture of Gautam Gambhir being very happy has gone viral. The LSG mentor appeared to be in a jovial carefree mood after the hard-fought win against MI.

In a low scoring encounter at the Ekana Stadium, MI were 103-2 and were calling the shots after 11.1 overs. But LSG pulled things back with the ball and picked up a famous win.

Marcus Stoinis smashed 89 off 47 balls to help Lucknow Super Giants get to a sizable total

Mohsin bowled beautifully after getting carted in his first over. He picked up the big wicket of Nehal Wadhera and conceded just 26 runs in his three overs. Ravi Bishnoi went for a bit of tap early on, but he brought back LSG into the match by scalping both Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who at that point threatened to take the game from LSG. Once the duo departed, it was not easy for the new batters to get going straightway,

In the first innings, LSG could only get to a sizable total in the first innings due to Marcus Stoinis heroics. The Australian all-rounder belted the MI bowlers in the death overs. He made an unbeaten 89 off 47 balls with four fours and eight sixes. Stoinis was particularly severe on Chris Jordan, who was dispatched for 24 runs in the 18th over. The onslaught included two sixes and three fours.

Stoinis had received good support from Krunal Pandya, who made a handy 49 off 42 balls with one four and one six. His innings had to be cut short suddenly when he experienced some pain while running. The All-rounder retired-hurt on 49. He was replaced by Nicholas Pooran.
