Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was involved in a serious car accident at the Narsan border of Roorkee in Uttarakhand in the early hours of Friday, December 30, 2022. After receiving initial treatment for his injuries at the Saksham Hospital Multispeciality and Trauma Centre, he was transferred to Dehradun’s Max Hospital where his condition has been described as stable.

Eyewitness reports state that Pant’s car collided with a pile of soil, causing it to spin out of control and roll over multiple times before crashing into the guard rails on the side of the road and catching fire. Despite sustaining injuries all over his body, the cricketer managed to escape the car by breaking a window before calling an ambulance and the police for help himself.

Further unfortunate details about the incident have since come out, which reveal that while Pant was trying to get out of the car, some men present at the scene approached him but instead of offering help, reportedly made off with some money from a bag that the cricketer had in the car.

Shocking visuals of the charred chassis of the car and the broken guard rails at the accident site are now spreading on social media. Pant, who was on his way to Dehradun from Delhi to spend New Year’s Day with his family, now faces a long road to recovery and may lose up to a year of cricket.
