Rishabh Pant is back to holding the cricket bat. The Indian wicketkeeper who unfortunately suffered an accident in late December 2022 has again picked up the willow after a long time. It is the first time in over 200 days that the star cricketer has batted. Pant’s return has a reason for the fans to celebrate, as they can finally witness their favorite cricketer play again.

A video has become viral on the internet where Pant was seen returning to the ground with his willow. On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, the JSW Vijayanagar organized a small tournament near the National Cricket Academy, in which, Pant took part and batted for the first time since December 2022. The fans who were present on the ground cheered the star cricketer.

Rishabh Pant can return in January, 2024

The Southpaw was seen practicing the throwdowns. The Indian cricketer was seen smashing the bowlers for fun as he likes to do. While the 25-year-old is yet to face high-quality bowlers, it is a good way to start his return to cricket. It was good to see that the Haridwar-born batter was able to step outside the crease and smash the bowlers all around the park.

As soon as the video became viral, the fans were elated. The fans wished for a soon recovery of the swashbuckling batter with their comments. Pant missed some of the coveted series in the recent past like the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023, the ODI series against New Zealand and Australia, the World Test Championship final against Australia, and the tour of the West Indies.

With crucial series like the tour of South Africa and England’s tour of India to start after the 2023 ODI World Cup, India would like to have its best wicketkeeper batter totally fit for the series. In Test cricket, Pant established himself as the savior of Team India. In 33 matches, Pant has 2271 runs at an average of 43.67, at a strike rate of 73.61, including 5 hundred and 11 fifty.
