Team India pace bowler Mohammed Shami is often in the limelight for his bowling performances. However, the speedster has been amid all the social media buzz after bringing home a Jaguar F-type sports car on 22nd July (Friday) this time. His latest purchase has been going viral like wildfire.
The red-coloured sports car is worth an incredible sum of Rs 98.13 lakhs (ex-showroom) and comprises a powerful V8 331 kW engine, which in fact has a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It possesses the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in 3.7 secs. The Jaguar is tuned with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which enables it to coast seamlessly on the streets.
The 31-year-old was pictured with the director of Shiva Motors, Amit Garg, who shared pictures of the Indian pacer’s latest purchase while handing him over the stunning car. Garg communicated this purchase from his LinkedIn handle. He also shared a picture of the experienced pacer gifting him a signed cricket ball.
This isn’t the first time, the star bowler has been hogging the limelight for showcasing his love for cars. He has already acquired luxurious cars such as Toyota Fortuner, BMW 5 series, and an Audi. Recently, he purchased the iconic bike Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and posted a photo with the new bike on Instagram.
Shami has been the leader of India’s pace attack along with Jasprit Bumrah. The mouth-watering spells from the veteran pacer have been a thing of beauty. In his previous ODI series against England, he became the fastest Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 150 wickets. He achieved this landmark in 80 matches, surpassing Ajit Agarkar’s record who took 97 matches.
The right-arm pacer also became the joint third-fastest to reach the landmark of 150 wickets, tied with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and behind Australia’s Mitchell Starc (77 matches) and Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq (78 matches). Shami has not featured in any of the series post the ODI series against England in July. The Indian pacer has, unfortunately, not been picked in India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.
