KL Rahul’s form has been the subject of intense questioning ta the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. The right-hand batter had a total score of 22 runs in three matches so far at the mega event. Understandably, fans had called for his exclusion from the team and for some other batter to be given chance in his place.

Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma however had put considerable confidence in the 30-year-old batter. Despite all that, however, the game against Bangladesh seemed a very important game for the player as a subpar performance in this game could send him out of the team.

Now it looks like Rahul has cemented his place in the team yet again with a quick-fire 50 from 32 deliveries. Coming onto bat first India opened their inning with the default duo of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. The Indian skipper failed to get going as he was dismissed at just 2 off of 8 deliveries. Rahul however despite the initial set back thwarted the Bangladesh challenge as he hit the bowlers to all parts of the stadium. In just 32 deliveries he hit 4 sixes and 3 fours and made 50 runs with a strike rate of 156.25.

With the help of Rahul’s innings, India were able to get to a good start against Bangladesh after an initial setback in the form of Rohit Sharma’s wicket.

Twitter was abuzz with KL Rahul’s inning as many were forced to eat their words after criticising Rahul’s form. Many however were also of the opinion that this was KL Rahul’s classic knock wherein he performs against a weaker side and cements his position in the team.

India are currently heading towards a big total against Bangladesh with Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik at the crease.
