India won the 2023 Asia Cup by beating Sri Lanka in the final of the tournament. In R Premadasa Stadium, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bat first. Nothing went right for Sri Lanka in the match. The home side was hit by a Siraj storm on the day of finals. Sri Lanka was completely outplayed by the Indian team on the day of the final. 

Siraj was the performer of the day, who claimed wickets for fun. The right-arm pacer made the best use of conditions and turned the game completely. In an over, the 29-year-old claimed 4 wickets and impacted the game. The Hyderabad-born pacer conceded only 21 runs in his 7-over spell and claimed a total of 6 wickets including a maiden over. 

Award winners from the final of the 2023 Asia Cup

As India won the match by 10 wickets, the Indian pacer was given the Player of the Match award. The Indian fast bowler was given a cash prize of $5000 for his performance in the match. In a kind gesture, Siraj shared his Player of the Match award with the ground staff, who worked hard throughout the tournament. The sweet gesture of Siraj won the hearts of the fans. 

Ravindra Jadeja claimed a sensational catch in the match to dismiss Pathum Nissanka. The Indian All-rounder was awarded with the catch of the match for his good catch. Jadeja got a cash prize of $3000. The Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav won the Player of the Tournament award. The left-arm unorthodox spinner claimed 4 and 5 wickets against Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively in the tournament. 

Yadav received a cash prize of $15,000. India won a cash prize of $1,50,000 for winning the tournament. The home side Sri Lanka received a cash prize of $75,000 for making it to the final of the tournament. Sri Lanka was cheered by the home crowd for their good performance. On the behalf of the ground staff, Godfrey Dabrera received the Sri Lanka cricket ground staff award along with a cash prize of $15,000.
