‘Life ka koi bharosa nahi hai’ – Fans react as former Zimbabwean cricketer Heath Streak passes away at 49
Heath Streak, the former Zimbabwean great has passed away at the age of 49. It is sad news for the cricket fraternity, as the sport has lost one of its influential cricketers. Streak was a big name in Zimbabwean cricket and inspired a lot of youngsters to take up cricket during the 1990s and early 2000s. Without a doubt, Streak will be missed by all his fans and supporters.
Earlier this day, the wife of Heath Streak, Nadine Streak, confirmed the fact that Streak was no more. The 49-year-old had been battling cancer for a long time. A few days back, some reports suggested that Streak was no more, which turned out to be fake. Nadine has now taken to social media to confirm that her husband and the father of her children is no more.
Nadine posted an emotional post on her Facebook account. The wife of the former Zimbabwean captain shared some of the beautiful pictures of her family in the post. In the images of Nadine, Streak was seen as a bit lanky as compared to his cricketing days, which shows how weak the cancer had made the person. It was sad to see the post of Nadine.
‘Our souls are joined for eternity’ – Nadine Streak
Nadine wrote “In the early hours of this morning, Sunday the 3rd of September 2023, the greatest love of my life and the father of my beautiful children, was carried to be with the Angels from his home where he wished to spend his last days surrounded by his family and closest loved ones. He was covered in love and peace and did not walk off the Park alone. Our souls are joined for eternity Streaky. Till I hold you again,” and expressed her disappointment.
Streak is considered as the best Zimbabwean player by many. Without a doubt, the former Zimbabwean great was the best All-rounder and the best bowler of the African team. In his international career, Streak claimed 216 wickets in Test cricket and 239 wickets in ODIs for Zimbabwe.
