Leo movie review:

Riding high on the success of “Master,” Lokesh Kanagaraj directs “LEO,” his second project with Vijay. A captivating action scene with a hyena opens “Leo,” bringing new life to the movie right away. The visuals and VFX offer an engrossing beginning. The entire first half is made up of expertly written action scenes backed by a superb background tune.

The genuine debut of Sanjay Dutt’s character, Antony, opens the second half of “Leo,” and is followed by a protracted flashback sequence. At this point, the film starts to get boring and never picks up steam again. One’s patience is put to the test during the entire flashback, which features action, drama, and the father.

Overall, the first half of “Leo” is gripping due to its strong action, soothing soundtrack, and striking cinematography. But in the second half, it absolutely collapses and never gets going again. Leo seems like an arbitrary addition to the much-discussed Lokesh Cinematic Universe (Lokesh).

On the other side, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon are among the cast members who did a good job in their roles. Sadly, the poorly written characters of Priya Anand, Madonna Sebastian, Anurag Kashyap, and other authors prevent them from making an impact. The film’s overall appeal is enhanced by Manoj Paramahamsa’s cinematography, which infuses freshness with elegant and high-quality visuals. However, Philomin Raj’s editing, particularly in the second half, should have been far better. Both the script and the Telugu dubbing are of an acceptable calibre.
