The India- Bangladesh match is heading towards a thrilling end as the Shakib Al Hasan-led side came up with a sensational start to their chase. Chasing a target of 185 Bangladesh openers put up a 66-run partnership in just 7 overs to thwart any challenge from Indian bowlers.
Litton Kumar Das was the hero of Bangladesh’s innings as he hit a quickfire half-century in just 21 deliveries; the second fastest of this 20-20 World Cup. The game was already heading towards an upset when the rain hit at the end of the seventh over. This was when Pakistan’s former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar uploaded a video on his social media analysing the game.
“Bangladesh, amazing, brilliant fantastic. Kya opening stand di hai Shanto ne aur Litton Das ne. I mean faiti laga rahe hain India ko. Are we heading towards another disaster, another upset?” said Akhtar.
“A brilliant game done by Bangladesh. What an innings by Das, 25 me 50. Kya player hai yaar. Great player aur maza aayega ye dekhne me. Dekhte hain ye upset hoga yan nahi, ” concluded the former Pakistan bowler.
In the first innings, India made 184 on the back of half-century knocks from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Rahul ended his poor vein of form as he hit 50 off of 32 at the start and later Kohli continued his form with an unbeaten 64 off of 44 deliveries. Suryakumar Yadav also played a quickfire knock of 30 off of just 16 deliveries.
The target of 185 however didn’t seem much for the Bangladesh openers as they made a significant among of runs (66) without losing a single wicket. Rain interruption has meant that overs will have to be reduced and with it, the target will get nearer as well. India would have to come up with something special when the match resumes to grab victory from the jaws of defeat.
