The Indian team has been one of the best teams in the last 10 years. Yet, the men in blue have not won a big tournament since 2013. India were deemed the favourite in many tournaments in the last 10 years. The quality of the team on paper was amazing in almost all the tournaments. Yet, the Indian team has failed to win a big tournament in the period.
India lost the finals of the 2014 T20 World Cup, the 2017 Champions Trophy, the World Test Championship of the 2019/21 cycle, and the World Test Championship final of the 2021/23 cycle. India also lost the semifinals of the 2015 ODI World Cup, the 2016 T20 World Cup, the 2019 ODI World Cup, and the 2022 T20 World Cup. The team has not been able to win big matches.
In almost all the tournaments, India had a fantastic team. In all the tournaments India had players who could win big tournaments, and in fact, had done in the past. In almost all the tournaments, India dominated the group stage and dominated the tournament till the knockout stage. Yet, the hurdle to winning the big match is to be achieved and seems very difficult to the current Indian team.

The fans have expectations from the team every year for big tournaments. The team has been consistently disappointing them by not winning the tournaments. The team has lost many genuine fans who wish for the success of the team. But sometimes, the fans also question the functioning of the system which has control over the team.
Nothing seems to change the fate of the Indian team till now. In 2023, India will be playing the ODI World Cup at home. The last time an ODI World Cup happened at home, India became the first team to win an ODI World Cup at home. Speaking about India’s record in knockouts of late, the Indian captain said, “ICC tournaments are the ones you need to win, we will try our best like any other year to have the best chance to win the Trophy for India” and assured of good efforts from the team.

Indian Cricket team's attitude towards ICC tournaments seems casual and unenthusiastic. Winning these tournaments should be a top priority, not just another attempt.
