‘Just another phase’ – Sushmita Sen gets candid about wedding rumours with Lalit Modi

Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen has never been shy about discussing her dating life. In an interview with Mid-Day, the actor discussed her brief relationship with businessman Lalit Modi. She admitted that, while it was “just another phase,” she was amused by how people reacted to pictures of them. Sushmita stated that, while she never disclosed her relationship status with Lalit Modi, she only used social media once to clarify that she was not married.

The actress stated, “I only made one Instagram post because I believe that when people remain silent, their silence is misinterpreted as weakness or fear. I only needed one post to let them know I was laughing. That was the end of it for me. Memes, mast aa rahe hain. Mazza is correct. But, kisi ko, agar aap golddigger bulate ho, usey monetise toh mat karo kum se kum. (I’m enjoying all of the memes, but if you’re going to call someone a golddigger, at least don’t monetise her). Also, double-check your facts. I prefer diamonds to gold (I prefer diamonds to gold). That was another experience, a different phase, and things happened. And if I were to marry someone, I would be married to them. I don’t even try. I either do or do not.”

Last year, Lalit Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared intimate photos with the a, implying that they’re married. However, after much speculation, Sushmita clarified on Instagram that she does not yet have a ring on her finger. Sushmita was recently spotted rekindling her relationship with ex-boyfriend Rohman Shawl. At a recent Diwali party, the two were seen holding hands.
