In a massive blow for team India, pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup due to a serious back stress fracture injury. As per reports, no back surgery is required but 4 to 6 months of rest is the need of the hour for India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah had complained of back pain and because of that, he missed the 1st T20I against South Africa which was held at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. India’s ace of pace has had a bad tryst with back injuries and another one has come at the wrong time. Jasprit Bumrah’s absence should be a big loss for India in the 20-20 World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah picked up a back spasm just before the start of the Asia Cup and he had to give the multilateral tournament a miss due to this. It is the third time a back injury has come back to haunt Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer was out from international cricket since July this year. The right arm quick played his last ODI match against England.

The absence of Jasprit Bumrah will cause a huge blow to India as whenever the skipper needed wickets, he always looked up to Jasprit Bumrah to provide that. Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the biggest assets for the team due to his ability to bowl in all phases of the game.

This is a big blow to India as it hampers their chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

“Bumrah is not going to play the World T20 for sure. He has a serious back condition. It’s a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months,” a senior BCCI official told sources on the condition that the name will be kept anonymous.
