‘Jali na, teri jali na?’- Irfan Pathan’s sly dig at Pakistan cricket fans starts a meme fest on Twitter

Pakistan were given a huge lifeline by the Netherlands when they defeated South Africa in their last Super 12 match. As a result of this massive upset, Pakistan were presented with a chance to qualify for the semi-final; a chance that they grabbed by both hands, defeated Bangladesh and moved into the semi-final.

After the dramatic turn of events, former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has taken a sly dig at the Pakistan team and their fandom on Twitter. In the early hours of Monday, Pathan took to Twitter and wrote, “Padosiyon ke Twitter accounts sirf SUNDAY ke naam pe zinda hai 😉 Love it (Twitter accounts of the neighbours are only active because of the Sunday).”

Pathan seems to be taking a dig at Pakistan’s qualification which had a great hand from the Netherlands. The former bowling all-rounder seems to be pointing ta the fact that had South Africa won on Sunday, Pakistan fans would have deleted their account.

Pakistan had earlier lost back-to-back matches with arch-rivals India and Zimbabwe in the first two World Cup matches. They were then presented with the tough task of winning all their matches and hoping that results in other matches go in their favour.

South Africa who had remained at the top of the Group 2 table had their game against Zimbabwe washed out by rain but still had a shot at a semi-final berth. The Temba Bavuma-led side needed to win their match against the Netherlands to reach the semi-final but they fumbled and allowed Pakistan to get into the next stage.
