Mohammad Amir has come into the limelight for his celebrations yet again in the PSL. He made a gesture a few days back which attracted the attention of Shahid Afridi and the two had a chat about it. But days later, he came up with yet another gesture that was called obscene by the fans.
He played against the Lahore Qalandars where he picked up an injury and bowled only two overs. The incident happened in the sixth over of Qalandar’s innings. When Irfan Khan Niazi took a stunning catch, Amir jumped up high in the air before pulling off a Triple H-like celebration. (Triple H- famous WWE star). The fans did not like the gesture one bit.

“Whenever a player doesn’t perform, or even if he does, I drop him a message for call him. Likewise, I messaged Amir yesterday. I talked to him respectfully, but I also scolded him. I told Amir, ‘what do you want?’ You have gained so much respect, you faced a blot on your reputation and from there, you made a return. You got a new life, in a way. What are you even trying to do?” Afridi had said in a chat with Amir a few days earlier.
“Ye koi tareeka hai? (Is this the way to play?) There are juniors around you, you are using bad words. There are fans who are disheartened to see that. Even we have used such words and sometimes, the camera used to catch us. There are families, kids watching you on television. Aggression is fine, but keep it under control,” Afridi further added.
This is the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League and is being staged entirely in Pakistan. The tournament had a minor scare at the start when the exhibition games were played before the actual tournament due to a reported bomb blast that took place in Quetta.
